Spring is here and the swimming season has officially kicked off. Johannesburg residents can look forward to using many of the swimming facilities across the city.
The city has planned a staggered approach to the opening of some of the facilities which are under maintenance.
Here is a list of the swimming pools in Soweto (Region D) that are scheduled to be operational for the 2024/5 Spring/Summer season.
- Diepkloof: Immink Street, Diepkloof, Zone 1
- Klipspruit: 1244 Mofokeng Street, Klipspruit
- Orlando East: 3959 Ngiba Street, Industria Park, Orlando East
- Dobsonville: 3290 Nonhlanhla Street, Dobsonville
- Jabavu: Mlangeni & Mbatha Drive, Jabavu
- Meadowlands: 173 Motswedi Street, Meadowlands, Zone 2
- Moletsane: 267/8 Mokhatla Street, Moletsane
- Noordgesig: 375 North Street, Noordgesig
- Pimville: Mathithibala & Modjaji Street, Pimville, Zone 4
- Power Park: Cnr Chris Hani Street
- Senaoane: 1925 Mabalane & Makhetha Street,Senaoane
The following pool will not reopen due to major renovations needed at the facility:
- Jabulani: 02229 Isikwama Street, Jabulani
The Johannesburg swimming pools will be open Tuesday- Friday from 10:00-18:00 pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 09:00-17:00 pm.
Children can use the swimming pools from R6 per child and adults from R20 per adult.
Please ensure that children are accompanied by an adult and that all the rules of the swimming facilities are respected.
