We recently caught up with Tshepang, best known as @twiggymoli on social media. She’s a girl from Phomolong, Orlando West who’s travelled the world, partnered with converted brands and unreservedly loves Soweto.
Here are a few of Twiggy’s favourite things about Soweto.
What do you believe Soweto has that no other place in South Africa or the world doesn’t?
“The people make the place. Sowetans are the most vibey, confident and stylish people you’ll find in South Africa.
We are so proud of our Kasi and we carry that pride with us wherever we go. We are always down to host people at our favourite spots and show them a good time.
The most talented people are born and bred in Soweto, which is why most of the most elite establishments can be found in Soweto. We believe in embracing where we are from and growing our beloved township with every move that is made.”
Which are your 4 favourite places in Soweto?
- To Party: Definitely KONKA Soweto, @konkasoweto in Pimville, Zone 7 for a premium nightlife experience.
- For the most delicious South African cuisine: Mama Moli’s, @mama_moli Kitchen makes the most mouth watering contemporary and African cuisine in Soweto.
- For my hair and nails: I go to the finest nail tech, Tshepiso at Fabuleux Hair Studio, @fabuleux_hair_studio.
- I trust Mauricio, @8870mauricio to work his magic on my hair needs. He installs wigs and is the king of all hairstyles.
